V USA a ve světě se stal slavným až se svou hudební kariérou, a to díky příležitosti od Lil Waynea, který ho v roce 2009 upsal k svému labelu Young Money Entertainment, na kterém Drake vydal 10 projektů a působil na něm do roku 2018. V otevřené éře vyhrála nejvyšší počet dvaceti tří grandslamových titulů ve dvouhře, jimiž o jedinou trofej zaostala za historickým rekordem Margaret Courtové.

Jako devátá zkompletovala kariérní Grand Slam ve dvouhře a téhož výkonu dosáhla i ve čtyřhře.
